Satish Triplicane

Policy Advisor

Satish Triplicane is a policy advisor on the Trade team within IISD’s Economic Law and Policy Program. In this role, he focuses on ongoing trade and environmental issues, including the plastic pollution treaty, fossil fuel subsidy reform, and industrial policies.

With over a decade of professional legal experience, Satish brings deep understanding and expertise in international trade policy, trade remedy disputes, World Trade Organization law, customs, and technical barriers to trade regulation.

Prior to joining IISD, Satish advised and assisted the Government of India, as well as private entities on Indian trade policy issues, technical barriers to trade advisory and trade remedy investigations before various forums, including the United States Department of Commerce, the European Commission and the Indian trade remedy authority.

Satish holds an LL.M in international trade and investment law and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in International Law and Economics from the World Trade Institute, University of Bern, a bachelor’s degree in commerce and an LL.B from Delhi University. Satish is admitted to the Bar Council of Delhi.

Currently based in Pune, India, Satish works closely with IISD’s trade team in Geneva. Satish is fluent in English and Hindi.
